South African athletes with Down syndrome off to World Trisome Games in Italy

The South African Sports Association for the Intellectually Impaired (SASA-II) proudly announces the departure of their National Team for people with Downs Syndrome to represent South Africa at the 1st Trisome (World) Games to be held in Florence, Italy, from 15 – 22 July 2016. 

Ms Lizzie Vogel, SASA-II President, had this to say about the upcoming Games in Italy “The Trisome Games is a very good idea and will be a great platform from where people with Down syndrome can “talk” to the world.  The bigger the event the better the chances is to make a mark in the world and already in February there were 32 countries that showed their interest to attend this event.  The Paralympic Committee in Italy is involved in the preparations of this event and the expectations of the First Trisome Games are very high.”
